Last year, Sam and I went to see the Wisteria during golden week, which traditionally is when these gorgeous purple flowers are at their peak. However, because of global warming, like the rest of the plants and seasons around the world, timescales and temperatures are changing. The Sakura bloomed two weeks early again in 2023 and the Wisteria flowers are no different. Although they are not as popular as the cherry blossoms, these purple beauties make the best Japanese spring vacation day trip spots.
As we didn’t have the time nor money to travel this year for the blooms, we stayed local. Just because we didn’t travel far though, doesn’t mean we didn’t get to see plenty of Wisteria and they definitely didn’t disappoint. I will drop the photos below.
This year, we went to Rikugien and Kameido Tenjin, which I personally believe are two of the best wisteria spots in Tokyo. Please do let me know with a comment or a message if you’d like to see more of this content or if you have any suggestions on what I should do next! Whether you are a new reader, a frequent visitor to my blog or just someone wondering “Where can I see Wisteria in Tokyo?” or “Can I see Wisteria in Tokyo?”, I am so grateful for your time. I hope you enjoy reading this and seeing my travel photography. If you like things like this and haven’t done so already, I highly recommend checking out my last few blog posts, as here I wrote about and dropped all my hanami / Tokyo cherry blossom photos from this year.
Thanks again!
